Single Valentine

Valen

Single Valentine… Leila thought about Valentine’s day and all the depression one can feel being single today. All the hearts everywhere, social media bursting with all these love messages, roses, hearts… Today we celebrate Love… Or is it today we remember, once a year to be nice and carrying towards our partner?

Single Valentine… Oh… So much pressure… We are social beings and we also have a very strong ‘flock instinct’, a very strong need to be like everybody else, to fit in, but to also feel safe being ‘one of the many’ and go though life unnoticed and un-judged. It’s so easy to just fit in, be like the rest and not having to worry about being different… That’s definitely not for everyone…

You don’t want to stand out and be labeled Single Valentine… You want to just be part of the mass hysteria, surround yourself with hearts, do your part in the marketing campaign, be a good customer, take a deep breath, tell yourself you’re happy, loving and you feel loved and appreciated… and simply make it through this day…

Any holiday kind of brings you the same feeling of aloofness and loneliness, unless you can be part of the mass happy hysteria… Single Valentine… Not something you can take… Feeling so much more depressed, just because one day a year you cannot be like the rest…

And then your heart asks you: ‘Are we supposed to be loving, happy, grateful one day a year only?’ Are we supposed to be more loving today?

Commercial schemes feed on these.. and of course they feed on the ‘flock instinct’…. Good marketing, kitch at it highest enormity and let the money flow in… because the ‘flock’ needs to do as told and Spend…

Being single, like everything else in life is a matter of choice… Not supposed to be depressive in any way and of course we also need to remember to stand by our choices and accept them, bare them and appreciate and be grateful for what we have… Looking at the full part of the glass is crucial…

Nothing wrong with being a single Valentine, nothing wrong with being in love with yourself, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being in love with your freedom…

We come in this world alone and we leave the same and the Universe didn’t crumble and crash because of this… It’s our natural state and even single, we can be more loving and more full of life than any couple that leads their life in lies, pretend and façade plastic life…

Accept

After all… you just need to take a deep breath and think what it is that you really want, what your heart really tells you and make the best choices for what it is that your soul is longing from.

Accept your past, focus on your choices, have faith, be grateful and live your life to the fullest… Be the best version of you you could ver be and also remember freedom is the greatest gift we have. Make your choices out of love and from your heart and focus on your inner voice!

Don’t worry about fitting in, don’t worry about the trends, they all come and go… Accept yourself and realize… there’s nothing wrong, out of place, depressive, sad or lonely about being a single Valentine… You can change things any time you chose to… So what if today you chose to be a Single Valentine?
